Storm in the Bay.

In late October 2020, a brief but powerful storm hit Ireland. Storm Aiden came and went in the space of around 15 hours, but was at its strongest as the high tide turned on the morning of the 31st October. Waves from the previous weather system pushed in to Dublin Bay from the South East as the wind strengthened from the North West. The result was a brief but spectacular maelstrom of standing waves that lasted less an hour. This photo was taken with a big telephoto lens from near the Pigeon House looking across the bay towards Dun Laoghaire.
